I have this huge system sitting here (was built to make AoC fly when my old system couldnt handle it..) waiting for anything worth a damn to come out so i can use it again. is anyone playing ANYTHING worth a damn?? KOTOR online looks like the next thing to try - but of course, like everything else, im sure it will disappoint....
Anyone playing anything?

Yeh, a nightshade as a first toon is going to be rough.
I started with a shaman (lev 50 w/800+ in SC) to meet people since it is easy to get groups as a buffer, then an SM (lev 46 w/1k+ in tailor) to start farming mobs for cash and drops to trinket, then several others of various levels to cover all the other crafting lines (800+ WC, 800+ AC, 600+ alch, and 600+ fletch). That has taken 3 months of just casual play, but I've essentially been self-sufficient and have met enough people to do some raids.
