I've been considering playing it. I'll be interested to hear reports of how this weekend's pvp beta event goes (assuming I don't get to play it myself). I'm also struggling with whether I really want to invest time and money in an MMO I know I'll just be playing for at most a few months until GW 2 and/or TOR comes out.

First (and probably last) impression: this game feels exactly like WAR. I've seen enough in an hour of questing to know I don't want to spend any money on it. Next....

yep honeslty it is a bit like war. i DO like the class progression... I've only played for about an hour as well.. but figure ill give it some more time before i make a decision.

i am loving the pvp, kinda feels a little like daoc. I would definetely give it more time, i felt the same way when i started, but with the complexities of the soul system it really lets you make whatever you feel like making.

ok now that I've put some time into the game -it is definately NOTHING like WaR. I can see how it looked that way when you come across your first rift. But the thing is .. rifts are dynamic... they pop up in populated zones. You don't have to do it as a quest, but you get decent items from jumping in and helping out.. and good xp (usually doesnt take long at all). Its not like groups quests in WaR which really sucked. all in all im kind of hooked for now. The pvp is fun. The character customization is amazing. Graphics are good. UI is of course, built a bit like WoW. Probably due to making it easier on players that have only played wow.. gah im getting old if i can say that.

On a serious note. I'm so sick of the vanilla, 2 realms, same career paths for everyone type of games. You aren't unique, in the battlefield there's very little difference in fight dynamics, and yes, I get it, 3-3+ realms with completely different classes can be a nightmare and someone will always be unhappy with the balance, and it will be a constant juggling act. But you know what? I'd take that 99/100 times over the standard MMOs these days.
