2. THIS looks like a game I will jump into. I LOVED EVE in combat... but I absolutely HATED having to do all the *explicit* for faction and all the time researching things to obtain big ships... only to spend DAYS gathering all the stuff (or money to buy them) only to have it blown up in a massive war instantly etc. The time involved in EVE made me irate..

I've already played WoW and WAR, this doesn't look any different and I'm not really interested in the combination of the two

Find a game that has multiple (more than 2) realms/factions, with completely different classes from each other, and an rvr system like old school daoc or something relatively similar. I'll be there

Bah its not like wow and it's more interesting than war. I've played everything, I enjoy this one. It;s not dark age...but honestly nothing ever will be.

Eh.... I kinda feel it is exactly like WoW and War lol.


The same PVP structure as WoW in Vanilla, before the bg's and the same exact bg's as War.


Granted they 'may' place in a new field of pvp that may resemble DAOC's mix.. but for now it's War/War mix.


That doesn't mean it did not take the best of all and put them in 1 game.. but the same repition does get to a person at times.


Which is why I am on the fence.


As for Black Prophecy... I loved EVE... to an extent... so this does look good to me.


That and I'm hoping for PLanetside 2.

I just worry that folks are basing their thoughts on very little open experience. Black Rose Garden is only the low level Warfront, there's the Codex which completely changes the style after level 20, and more added in following that. There's also open world, and in a PvP server you basically roam your opposition's homeland killing people and fighting and starting rifts, so it's pretty varied. There's been talk of shared open PvE zones, as well as talk about closed battlegrounds containing keep style fighting.


There's just a lot of room for more in the near future, so I'm keeping my mind open.

Yeah that's the beneficial part as to why I am on the fence.


If I had to judge it on just what I saw and didn't get to experience I'd be like... hella no.. and stick to DCU lol.


I will toy around in the next phase, but I may not be back till mid week. Regardless, if need be.. I'm sure one of you will let me tinker around in the next bg's for a run or two if I ask just to experience it and see something different, but I bet I'll get up there on my own in no time.

After a decade++ of playing MMOs, my tolerance to give games a real chance has gone out the window. WoW PvP was garbage, WAR PvP was slightly less garbage, but still garbage, so any hybrid of those types of games I have no interest in.

Lexi - BP is impossible to get information on, but apparently the only thing EVE and BP have in common are the fact that they both take place in space. I'm trying to find out stuff about levels/leveling, ship types, large scale stuff, and rewards for PvP. But the biggest appeal that it has for me right now is that it's more of a freespace look and feel, but on an MMO level.

What concerns me is that it's impossible to find any real solid information, and they've been in closed beta for quite some time (and had originally been slated to release in Q4 2010). Not a good sign, and is apparently free to play, which is the most alarming to me, because any games that were usually free to play were either garbage, or you had to dump a ton of RL cash to be relevant.

Was hoping one of you noobs had been playing it CHOOCH, WHERERU??!!

I'm with you guud. For the better part of 16 years I've been skating the online RPG waters. Since dragonrealme in text format. I'm thoroughly jaded when it comes to anything and that's because I haven't played an engaging game since dark age.

I have hopes for rift, but also reservations. The one thing I do appreciate is the disposition of the Trion staff and their level of involvement with thebplayer base. We will see how it goes.
