Okay guys, most of us have one thing in commen. We are hoping and wishing for a game like Dark Age of Camelot, now I don't know if Rift will offer us that but I do want to remind everyone the apart of DAoC that made it so appealing was the friendships/rivalry's/respect/fun.. that we all had together. We do have our others doing what they can to attempt to put together a Gawaine type guild for Rift when it comes to release. I personally think this is a wonderful idea, others have already got the ball rolling in trying to make this happen. We have people that are iffy, that are kinda shrugging off the general idea of trying out this MMO and making that decision. After comparing this game to what a already high standard DAoC has set for us.


The reason I'm posting this is because this game will be a wonderful opportunity for all of us to get back together and play again. I don't mean half assed either, I'd like it if we could all get as MANY old Dark Age of Camelot players as we can to atleast have some type of interest in this game. Afterall we all had fun in DAoC, we still to this day gloat about what wonderful fights we had against each other... but people forget it wasn't all gameplay, we had a wonderful group of people across all three realms that made this game fun... The personality's, the rivalry's... and everything inbetween. This will also give us that headstart to try and rekindle what we can atleast on the friendship side of the game while also learning a new game with new mechanics and lets face it... rape all the carebears.


What I'd like to do: Spark that old gaming flame that we all once had with DAoC, I'm not saying that it will but I see no reason to give it a shot so our community can once more be involved in one game and Gawaine to me was a home in the gaming world, not because of the game mechanics.. but because of the great personality's involved in the community. I think this may be one of the best oppertunities for us all to get back together one last time and make some noise for the sake of DAoC/PvP/and Friendship.


If you are in any way shape and or form interested, please post below and let me know the best means of contact, get your old friends and let them know as well. Should we have enough support I will take further actions to see that we make this attempt at bringing some of the Gawaine kinmenship back. -PS- I was a little under the influence at the making of the post.

I’m still a tad bit undecided on if I want to make another leap into a game again. I’m situated with coworkers in DCU and although I don’t normally like these kind of games, I am enjoying it. I just wish BG 1 in Rift had not put such a bad taste in my mouth, me and Uruz were both raging at the people there and the tug o’war Cliffside stand offs. It was almost as bad as WoW’s Warsong Gulch spawn camping the entire duration of the BG.

I have a few days to decide and see how my feelings changed, including the next phase which opens.. tomorrow I believe?

If I do come and continue, I’ll most likely be coming with my sister.

Lexi, just don't base your final call on whether or not I rage...it's pretty much what I do when gaming. You only heard what I typed...but you should hear the junk that comes out of my mouth when you're sitting next to me. Nyd gets a kick out of it.


I'm going to talk with the folks from Silent Redemption EQ guild who were also playing as a group. A very solid bunch.


My suggestion to whoever speaks with Blackthornes, please tell them I'm not paying them 20k a month in guild fees.


Nyd and I are looking into working out our own guild and inviting folks who like to have fun together. I was never one for being just another rank and file guildie, I was an officer in every DAoC guild I was in, and I think most of the other folks joining us from the game are pretty much in the same boat as guild leadership. That's why in the beta every AOW member is in the leadership, and that's pretty much how I prefer it.


I definitely wantto see everyone possible joining us there, and we should figure out how to get in touch with the other fools who don't troll this board anymore. If you're still playing, let your guildies know. Let the old schoolers who you still speak with know. Please, let Malvegil know, because he's funny.

When I post this I mean no BS, I want us to come together and make what we can of this. I appreciated everyone putting a foot forward and I encourage everyone else to inform their friends. I've already made the decision that we will be making this guild on Tearfall ... HOWEVER -- at launch time I have not yet decided which faction we will be partaking in.


If it is not too much to ask I would like each person who will be participating in this guild and server to private message me with their preference of faction. (Aka Guardian/Defiance) at this very moment I do not feel it is too important to have us all worried about what we are doing in BETA. However when the game launches I want to have a clear picture painted for everyone about what faction we will be apart of. (This is pure speculation but I would guess Defiant.) --I think this is a fair way of doing it as all of us should only care about playing together at this point.--


After I recieve enough PM's about our factional decision I will announce what faction we will be apart of......


Just remember it's about getting all of us people from Gawaine together again and putting the hurt on all the carebears.... I look forward to this greatly.
