i think its amazing that they are in the final game...specially due to the size of the school and constantly being overshadowed by IU, and Purdue...Basketball is king here in Indiana and never has Butler been mentioned in any conversation until now.

i went to a Butler basketball party/cookout yesterday and it was a blast! and that has never happened that friends get together and root for the Butler Bulldogs!

so you guys know who ill be rooting for in the final, i just hope that they can continue the success and bring the title home to the state of Indiana (where it belongs!)

Well, all the Big Ten teams are out, so I guess I'll root for Butler in the final game ...after all in the games where I don't have some reason to root for team A or team B, I usually root for the underdog.

This game is nothing more than a formality. The national championship game was played last night between West Virgina and Duke. Duke is your 2010 National Champions. Heck of a couple of years for coach K. Wins gold with USA basketball, and then turns around and wins a national title with Duke.

Duke is the legit team, they were one of four teams I thought had a legitimate chance of winning a national title this season. Syracuse, Kansas State, and Michigan State are not on the same level as Duke. West Virgina is, and they got a beat down put on them. The dream ends tonight, Duke by 25.

Interesting, you picked Baylor to beat Duke but Syracuse, Michigan State, K State ans Butler (all of whom were ranked ahead of Baylor) aren't in their league? Sounds like some twisted logic to me. Duke may win, but I don't think it's a given. And if a bookie were giving me Butler and 25 I'd take it in a heartbeat.

Amendial seems to just say sh*t to get people to respond. You'd have to be a delusional Dukie to think it's a foregone conclusion that Duke will blow out Butler, and we all know he's a Jayhawk, so it's not that.

I had Baylor over Duke because I thought the home court advantage would give Baylor the advantage in that game. Houston is right down the street from the Baylor campus, I over estimated the homecourt advantage for Baylor. I have been talking about how dangerous Duke can be all season. They were shooting 50% from behind the arc the other night against West Virgina, and I couldnt help but think that was an off night for them. Duke shoots a beautiful 3 ball. Even though it is a close game, Butler does not have the talent to hang with Duke all game. Duke by 25 was more of an exageration statement. I would have taken Duke up to about 13 1/2 before this game started. I am surprised that Butler is tied with Duke going into the first TV timeout of the second half, but I still have to believe Duke will pull it out by atleast 10. Duke is simply the better team. Kansas, West Virgina, Duke, Ohio State. Those were the four teams I thought could run the table this year.

Duke has really underperformed in this game. Butler will have a chance to shoot for the lead with less than 10. Never thought they would even have a chance to be in this position at the start of the game. At the 10 minute mark Duke went up by five and I thought they were going to run away with it. This could be the shot of the decade coming up by Butler.

Butler out of timeouts now. This is must be a second place year for Indianapolis teams. Exciting finish to an otherwise unexciting tournament. Congratulations to Duke on winning their fourth national title. They truly were one of the best teams this season and they proved it during the tournament.
