Honestly I would inquire about their record prior to the game. This will mean a lot to your sanity when dealing with Nebraska fans. The fan base in general thinks their team walks on water and this is the year they are supposed to be 'back' (aka competing for national championships)... This is being fed by the national media because Nebraska fans are rabid about their team and will buy up anything that deals with football. It is entirely possible that Nebraska is undefeated when Texas comes to town, or they could have a couple of losses.

If they are undefeated then feel free to jab about whatever you want (Texas won last years championship game at the last second over Nebraska, Texas chased Nebraska from the Big 12 to the Big 10 cause Nebraska was scared of them, or just say "13-12".

If they have losses then I would tread carefully about your jabs as the entire ego of the fan base will be fragile. If they have lost, then just mention the record, or the names of the teams that beat them.. This should send the die-hard nubbers to suicide watch.

Under scenario 1 you will have a good time if Neb wins, and a mediocre time if they lose, and a horrible time if they lose badly. Under scenario 2 you will have a good time if Nebraska wins, or loses closely, and a mediocre time if they lose badly. Always keep in mind that Nebraska fans have nothing else to cheer for so they take their football.. um very seriously. Either way you go, you should be impressed by the stadium and the atmosphere at the game (unless they are getting blown out by Texas, then you will be impressed until halftime).
