Crazy story about the Illinios-Northwestern game this weekend in Chicago. The field is not big enough to support two end zone's safely so they will only use one. You would think the engineers who put this plan together would have thought to check this problem. Will give the game more pub than it probably would have received though.

The strange thing is, the Bears played in Wrigley Field for 50 years.

From what I understand of this, the dimensions of Wrigley have changed since 'Da Bears played there, mostly due to seating and what not.

The dimensions of the playing field haven't changed, only the stands.

There were 2 endzones, the only problem is one endzone ended only 3 feet from the wall and they were worried about someone running into the wall and getting hurt. Same configuration as the Bears used, in fact Bronko Nagurski ran into the wall during a game. When he got back to the bench all he said was "Boy that last guy gave me a good lick" meaning the wall.

Actually the part of said endzone was only 6 inches from the back, and the Bears played with the field running along the third base line instead of the first with the endzone along the first base line being 2-3 yards shorter than regulation.

i guess i didnt read that....fail on my part, i heard that they would only use one endzone due to safety concerns...didnt realize that there were two in fact. so i guess i answered my question about the pick six!

thanks for pwning me...at least it wasnt Amendial doing it, that i can live with.

No problem, after all it's not often a Browns fan gets to say they owned someone .

Oh and a pic of the "safety concern".
