AdamSchefter Adam Schefter
RT @mortreport: Werder reports while Favre won't leave team, putting him on IR to end speculation on last couple weeks is possible/likely.

Put up better numbers than Farve has been. Not a garbage night for T. Jack, lets see how much better he gets after having a few weeks of reps with the first team guys. Lets not forget this is a guy who has not had much time at all taking reps with the starters.

Exactly which part was better than Favre? Threw 15 for 30 with a pick a fumble and a 3 yard average on passes. He is terrible. He has exactly the same problems he had when he wasnt a good starter for the Vikes prior to Favre. He cant throw down field with any accuracy at all. His read progression is terrible, he gets to his second read and thats it, all over. He targeted Cindy Rice and Bernard Barrien on like 25 of his 30 passes. Because he cant throw the long ball he makes AP completely ineffective, the Giants were stacking the box last night because they knew that all the plays were with going to be runs, 2 yard dump passes or screens, or balls thrown over 10 yards incomplete.

I will take one pick over four picks that completely kill my teams chances of winning. And I have also been on record saying that T. Jack may not be the answer for Minnesota, but they wasted valuable time trying to discover if he needs to be cut. To get a pitch fork and be ready to kill the guy after one game as the starter is rediculous though, give it time to play out. At the end of the day Minnesota was a playoff team before Farve showed up, now they would be the biggest disappointment in the NFL had it not been for the Dallas Cowgirls desperately wanting that position. Everyone rejoiced the Farve signing and clearly that move was not good for Minnesota in the end, just like I said from the beginning. He ruined an otherwise great team. What a way to go out, instead of being remembered for his greatness, he will be remembered for his ability to choke away a teams best shot at the superbowl and leave that team a complete mess. Brett Farve, the coach killer.

I'm going to assume you arent forced to watch a lot of Vikings games like we are here in MN..

The Vikings problems go way deeper than QB right now, and neither Favre nor T-Jack have anything to do with a lot of the losses this season. They have a horrible offensive line, and Hutchinson their only good guard is hurt. Cindy Rice doesnt want to be in Minnesota, Harvin cant get his head figured out, and Bernard Barrien has hands of stone.

On the defensive side of the ball they have two DT's that are fading fast in the Williams, Jared Allen was no where to be found for the first 10 games of the season (he is coming on at least a little now) and teams are running right at him for good chunks consistantly. They have a good young LB core that is fantastic against the run, but cant cover well. Their secondary is a notch below average (been that way for years so nothing huge there). The entire team needs a lot of work, I am guessing that regardless of who their QB is they'll be going into rebuilding mode after this year. I would also guess based off what I am hearing on the local media that T-Jack wont even be considered as part of that rebuilding process.

I am fully expecting to see T. Jack get cut this off season. And you are right the Vikings have many issues that go far beyond the quarterback position, which is just another reason why you can not say T. Jack is a bust. I still believe the Vikings would be in a better position right now had they commited to T. Jack last season. Its to late to put him in now and expect him to be good to go. With almost no playing time the last two years he can not be expected to hit the ground running in this situation; especially since it has degraded into a disaster that is only rivaled by the disaster that is the Metrodome, building they play in.

So here is some fun for the Vikes.

Favre is probably out with the shoulder. TJack apparently has turf toe and is not looking good. Webb has a hamstring problem.

Per Schefter they are looking for a FA QB to sign for the last 3 weeks.
