If it is all about the practice time, then the NCAA could just allow schools to have an additional 20 off season practices. There really is no huge reason why they need to have a bowl game to do so. I understand the practices kind of lose their meaning without the bowl games, but as you kind of commented on above, the practices with the bowl games do not really have alot of meaning anyways since the bowl game is meaningless. Even if they lose those 20 practices, I do not think it is that much of a big deal and in fact one could argue that these student athletes dedicated their entire fall semester to football and they should be allowed to at least ejoy a lightened load during finals week and a relaxing winter break without any college football hanging over their head. As a student I know how tough it must be to put in 40 hours a week to football and then turn around and put in another 30-45 hours for classes. These guys have no life, they should not be forced to spend winter break on pratice for a meaningless game. It is just disrepectful to the student athletes who put in hard work making a ton of money for their university, and only get a very small slice of that money back in the form of a 16 thousand dollar a year scholarship.
