In my opinion there were two trades that were completely one sided.
The most egregious one was trading the number one pick in the draft (Arian Foster) for Jahvid Best (the week after he sustained his concussion) and Dustin Keller. Neither player saw his lineup all year.
The same day he also traded Hakeem Nicks and Eric Decker for Ryan Torain and Andy Dalton. He then immediately dropped Andy Dalton.
Trades are part of the game, and from all the FF etiquette that I have seen/read, it is very rare a trade gets vetoed. Rather than causing turmoil for your league/commissioner, it is just better to file that away, play on, and then just don't play in that league the next year. Since it did not get enough votes to be vetoed, I didn't say anything. Nobody likes being 'that guy' (but I guess I am now..)

that one is pure diabolical!
in my other 2 leagues, our commissioner will determine if the trade goes through. if it is as blatant as the trade that i highlighted then its a obvious decline. if the commissioner is trading then it would fall to the next in line so to speak.
its a easy fix. and should be.
if you go keeper league, then the person that does not keep their player(s) gets the nod for the top pick...imo. not sure how you would handle it on the yahoo site. not aware that they have features that you can customize. my vet league of 12yrs. was once a keeper till we went auction. and we always handled it that way if someone say, ME...one year i had Priest Holmes, he was blowing up and i was 8-0...then he was assassinated by the FFL Gods....the next year, since i didnt keep him, i was allowed the first pick. then it went to random picks of the others that chose to keep a player.

When someone needed a QB for that week it was a fair trade. not up to me if that person drops who they trade for. at that time decker was in a decline from tebow taking over so yea you said you dont follow football unless it is for your team so dont make excuses

... and that is why I didn't say anything at the time. People get defensive...
Spy, you did nothing wrong, you were on the receiving end of a trade that every single other player in every single other league in the world would have accepted. Your league did not veto it so you got the players. However, don't try to insult anyone's intelligence and try to justify it as a fair deal.
In fact after looking, Northwind's QB (Rivers) already had his bye week when this trade was done. Tebow took over in week 7 which was the week after this trade was made, so ya, there were questions about what would happen but nobody knew. Denver also just traded Lloyd making Decker the number 1 receiver. I'm sorry, but I just don't see how trading 2 number 1 receivers is worth a rookie QB and a backup running back.
I don't follow football. I can't even tell you who all the playoff teams are in these current playoffs. But thanks to FFL I do follow lots of individual players and I know a lot about them. I know a lot about Decker because I had him on my team in my other league. I also know a lot about the relative value of players thanks to the research I do every week.
I am making excuses because I didn't win the league? I am proud of my FFL team this year. My number 1 pick tore his ACL in week 2 and I still almost rode Drew Brees to a top 4 finish. I had fun and that was what I set out to do.

of course, having every team in the playoffs would prevent teams out of the running from trading all their best players to the two best teams in completely unbalanced trades, effectively eliminating everyone else from winning the league..
as happened this year...
so normally I would be opposed to having everyone in the playoffs, but with this group of players it might just be a good idea.
Just an observation but the 1st place team didn't make any trades.

I'm the one who got Foster and to be fair Jahvid Best wasn't injured at the time the trade was accepted. It was my first offer for Foster and I was surprised he accepted it.

The thing you got to remember is this: You may be helping one guy, but you could also be screwing 10 other people at the same time. If you fire sale your team, you hurt the rest of the league and the integrity of the league more than you help the guy who you trade with. When I am having a bad season, I dont accept very many trades at all, and any trade I do accept I do so only with the intentions of making my team better. It is just not a good thing to trade away great players because you are having a bad year. If anything, you should cut the cuttable players and let those that are first in waiver get a crack at them. That would be the most fair way to get rid of great players, but even that is not a very sportsman like action to do.

end of thread imo. if the league is going to be this way, then you can replace my spot. dumping your players to a specific person so that they can win, is bush league and pathetic.
