Thats a big if on getting seperated from K-State. The Board of Regents does not sound as if they will let that happen easily, because they know the truth that K-State is only considered a viable BCS school because of its connection to KU (very poor academics). I am not worried about KU landing somewhere good, like I have said many times before, these major conferences will figure out how to make big money off basketball eventually. When they do KU is the top school on any conferences radar, because they have the national brand that will make it easy for a conference to maximize that basketball profit. Just throwing out a what if scenario. I said a few years ago I wasn't down about KU going to Mountian West if that is what happened. Mountian West is sending four teams to the tournament for sure this year; add KU, MU, ISU, Baylor, Iowa State (who were the left behinds when this all started a few years ago) and that makes nine teams out of 12 going to the NCAA tournament. Tell me that would not be the best conference in America right now. Without having traditional powerhouse football programs to worry about, but still have several good to great programs in the conference it is hard to imagine the Mountian West not taking the Big 12's autobid, and it is easy to see that MU and KU would have had a much easier time winning a conference championship. It is too late now, but man I think that would have been the best long term move if those 5 schools had banded together with the best 7 Mountian West schools.
