Well we certainly got the weather for our week in Spain, though the trip itself, though fun, was slightly disappointing from a photography perspective. We were slap bang in the middle of ex-pat-brit central, so I saw very little of the real Spain that I'd wanted. I did take a number of pics though but was very upset that the day we went to the beach (naturally I didn't take my camera) was the day I finally saw a town with wonderful photo ops, I did take some photos, but they were with my daughters point and shoot.

There was some amazing graffiti in the city centre that I shot and wish I could claim credit for as I loved who the pics turned out, but it's only thanks to the fantastic artwork that they're good photos.

I did learn a big lesson about aperture size, using f22 is a little stupid, don't do it *laugh* Almost all my poolside shots are blurry Thankfully they weren't ones I was going to do anything with

Anyway, I don't have them fully edited yet, I just straightened, cropped and occasional b&w'd some of the ones I like, then threw them up on my general crap website so my friends that I was there with could see them. There are a few that I still need to clean out some background stuff from, like cables and people.

If you are looking through the whole album, they're a mish mash of mine, husbands and daughters pics and both cameras, so there is very little consistency in style or quality

Oh, and about the aparture values.


I very very rarely stop down to anything below f16, as most lenses will have noticable chromatic abberation beyond that.


Keep in mind that most lenses are at their best between one to two stops down from max. And you very seldom need to go much beyond f11 to get a wide enough dof. Use shuttertime to reduce light instead
