Honestly, those look to me like they are photoshopped in.

If you move fast enough and don't have much light on you you don't even get a ghost. Just need to make sure you don't stand still.

You might, and I do, but I bet the ones that do well don't stand still.

Another option (which I don't like) is to do the light on a long object of some sort so that you can stand off-frame and do it. That would take even more artisitc ability I'm sure.

I had the same thought and I can't say I'm sure, but I'm inclined to believe they are "real". You can see the ghost of the guy in one.

You just avoid standing in one place. You have to be close enough for your arm to reach where it needs to be, but that still gives your body some decent room to move...
