She got her glasses yesterday! At the doctor's they put the drops in her eyes to dilate them so she had to wear those big bug-eye disposable sunglasses, which she thought was "humiliating", but she kept em on while outside, as per instructions, because she did understand why she needed to wear em. After the doctor's, we took her prescription and went to the mall to pick out frames and whatnot. She actually is too big for the kid size frames. I wouldn't call her an amazon necessarily, but she's in fifth grade and is only an inch or two shy of five feet tall (my height). She will definitely be taller than me, although that's not a hard thing to do lol.

So we looked at the ladies frames and after a while of trying on different ones, we found *the* pair. She's very happy with them and she was indescribably thrilled to actually be able to SEE things! She's nearsighted, so books and whatnot weren't a problem but she had issues seeing the blackboard at school, even in the front of the class. I, on the other hand, have pretty perfect eyesight and she was just amazed at the things I could see, in detail, that she couldn't see till she got her glasses. I got her a hard case for her glasses and some care items, and got the unbreakable/scratch resistant lenses. The frames are titanium so hopefully they'll be pretty sturdy lol.

I guess it's hard for me to judge how big other kids might be. My daughter is rather petite and even as an adult, I have a small head (yeah, yeah....laugh it up).

Good choice of frames for her and the unbreakable lenses will pay for themselves several times over.

I am near sighted as well and if I read or do anything up close it makes my eyes hurt if I forget to take off my glasses. Make sure she watches for that as she may have to remove them to read etc.
