SO Ian is now 9 month and thinks he can walk. He is walking along things by grbbing onto them just fine, but he loves to just let go and try to take steps. Well he currently has a black eye, a bruise on that same cheek and forehead.

And Anelise..... she tells people this made up story that goes like this: " My dad kicked my two front teeth out when I was 2. You remember that dad, remember? huh, don't you?" She hasn't lost any teeth

Most people know kids that age are accident prone. My daughter had a lot of bruises when she started walking, too.

But, your older child is something to worry about. We never tolerated lying or making up stories that could be real. Our daughter was taught to start out all stories with "once upon a time" or "I'm going to tell you a story that is not real" so she and others could differeniate between the real and not real stories.

I used to hide in the clothing racks at stores then when my mom found me I would throw myself to the floor screaming "NO MOMMY DONT BEAT ME!!! I'LL BE GOOD! DON'T BEAT ME!!"

I was 2 and my mom never hit me in my life but I'm sure she was tempted

LoL

It could be worse

And kids learning to walk are definately accident prone, Evan is just starting to stand and he's got some cuts and bruises and had a shiner not to long ago.

Jayna that is a good Idea

the little one falling down, well, toddlers do fall down, it happens and I think most folks understand that.

but I think your daughter needs to learn that telling those kinds of stories is not a good idea. I remember when I was very young, my mother told me once that the law can take children away from parents who abuse them, and that making up stories about being abused could lead to my being removed from our house. So I was never tempted to tell those kinds of stories.

I realize now I do not fear death. I fear my daughter will not be free when I die.

little ones fall, but i know your pain. heck Littleman was pretty good at walking/running and within a week he had little horns on his forehead from falling. i actually got the name of the girl who saw him fall at the store just incase someone thought bad was happening.

outside that hubby and i tend to make fun of the very situation. when Littleman is being a pickle i tell him "Dont make me beat you in public" to which he replies "no Mommy dont beat me in public!" then i say "well how about a good swift!" he says "no Mommy no good swift kick in the butt!" then i offer him a knucklesammich! and he will often as for TWO knucklesammiches! then we laugh and it kinda changes the situation for us to laughter and he forgets what he was being a pickle over.

Gosh...the thought of my child telling someone something like that... /shudder

And yes, I know about the bruises LOL. My daughter is a monkey. She started climbing out of her crib at 16 months. She climbs out of shopping carts and climbs on top of dresses and...yeah....bonk!
