the best i could tell from reading is that the swaddler has an umbilical cord notch that the newborn doesn't?

If you're referring specifically to Pampers, Swaddlers and later Cruisers are their premium line of diapers. Their regular line isn't as plush... there's some smaller differences too, like Swaddlers smell like baby powder (and now have a Sensitive version that I haven't purchased, which I'd assume doesn't have the same smell), have the umbilical cord cutout, and have a strip down the entire diaper that is yellow colored when the diaper is clean, yet changes to a blue/green when there is urine in the diaper.

Personally, I love them - my older son would leak out of every other brand I tried. My younger one isn't having the same problem, so we're currently working our way through a box of size 1 Huggies Little Snugglers that my husband received as a gift from someone he works with. Comparison wise, I could see myself purchasing the Huggies, especially if they are drastically cheaper sale wise. They aren't bad, at all.

Thanks for all the info!

I was trying to get a head start and get all the baby stuff ready, but I couldn't find out any info on the difference between the two.

I'll give them a shot.

Lol it's not as bad as people think. I have all in one diapers that just snap on, toss wet ones in a bin or dump dirty mess in toilet then put in pail and wash every few days. Easy paesy and so cute!!

I'm still working on getting a written note excusing me from changing diapers because it will cause me excessive stress and mental anguish.
