Haha, my wife suggested letting kiddo decide dinner on his first day (Thursday.) Pretty sure we did that last year. He'll most likely suggest Subway or Pizza so it's not a big risk.

ok so we gave her choices within limits we were ok with and left her to decide dinner. she chose pizza.

we learned that she would appreciate us sending her with lunch money so she can buy chocolate milk and have pizza for lunch.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!

I really dont want to have this fight again like I did with my son <and lost eventually>. school food just isnt nearly as nutritious as the stuff we send the kids with but peer pressure makes the kids want that swill.

ah well. gotta have that conversation with my wife.

well keep this in mind

what you send with your child, isnt always what they eat. kids trade. you may send the most awesome stuff, but they may want that pizza or that choc milk.

you know?

My kids' school strongly discourages trading foodstuffs. Makes sense with all the billion allergies and special diets, I guess.

I have to wait till next Monday for my youngest to start JK. She will barely be able to get up the school bus steps... Least she has her big sister to help her out!! This gradual-entrance thing seems like BS. Asking her teacher if she can just straight up start full-time on Monday instead of having Tues/Wed/Thurs off and starting for real next Friday (after her Monday "initiation day"

X fingers, get to have a sit-down chat with teacher tomorrow morning.

Must post pics of child attempting to scramble up bus steps on Monday.
