Not that I really needed to ask this question.... but.......

Do you like Pink Floyd? Hate them? Whats your favorite song from this legendary band?

Mine would be "On the Turning Away." One of the best written, played, and singed songs in the history of music. I personally think it is their antheme, and my own aswell.

Pink Floyd, I think, is the best band in the history of music. They had some of the best lyrics on every song, had awesome vocals since they've been around, and their overall music playing I think is unchallenged. I feel kinda bad that the new generations are losing touch with this awesome band, cause if you think about it they really set what music is these days. I could probly go on and on pages on how much Pink Floyd is awesome but I think its easier to just say they are the best.

Also if you have never heard any Pink Floyd, ever, (you most likly have and not relized it) you are missing out big time.

Division Bell is one of my fave's now, but A Great Sorrow is by far the best, the jam out at the end is just amazing, the bass is soooo perfect with those pauses....<drool>

Pink Floyd are giants within music. Only very, very, very rarely to bands of their caliber come around. I could never call them the best ever, though, but thats simply for the sheer variety this beautiful artform naturally has.

Favorite Floyd Album - Wish You Were Here

Favorite Floyd Song - "See Emily Play", off of their debut, Piper at the Gates of Dawn

Pink Floyd are a rather unique entry in modern rock music.

They were fantastic AND -recieve the exact amount of kudos they should be getting-. I can't think of too many bands that have accomplished that WITHOUT a major death at peak popularity.

So they're unique in that respect.

They did wonders for tape editing and experimental effects done PROPERLY as well.

However- there were other bands who were clawing at their heels so to speak in creativity and innovation, even at that time. The band, "Shinki Chen and his Friends" comes to mind. Give them a listen. I believe they even predate Pink Floyd, but I'm prolly wrong about that.
