I'd have to say a toss up between NOFX at the Whiskey A Go-Go or Pennywise at the Whiskey. Both shows were AMAZING and back then I was a pit chick and they weren't nearly as violent as they are these days.

I've been to a lot of concerts, but these are the ones that really out. In no particular order:

Black Flag at some club in southern New Jersey around 1983 and every time after at City Gardens in Trenton, NJ (I've seen Black Flag a bunch of times). I became an instant fan the first time I saw them.

Jane's Addiction on the first Lollapalooza tour. A really memorizing show and they sounded GREAT.

Dick Dale at a bowling alley in Asbury Park, NJ last year. He is 70 years old and puts artists 1/3 of his age to shame with his energy and charisma. See my signature.

Pantera at some club in NYC during the Cowboys From Hell tour. Hands down the craziest, most chaotic concert I have ever been to; I stayed to the side of the room because I was afraid I was going to get hurt.

David Lee Roth on his very first solo tour after he left/got booted from Van Halen. He was REALLY out to prove something and Steve Vai and Billy Sheehan certainly helped his cause. Back then, you were either a Dave fan or a Sammy fan. I was a Dave fan. I also saw Van Halen a couple of months ago with Dave and they sounded better than they did in 1984 during that year's last tour with him.

Def Leppard on the Pyromania tour at the Philadelphia Spectrum in the early 80's. They opened for Billy Squier and blew him off the stage.

Slayer at City Gardens in Trenton, NJ... they're always great but the best I saw was probably the Reign In Blood tour (Hell Awaits was great too, but the sound wasn't quite as good). To this day, Slayer remains one of THE tightest playing bands I have ever seen which is no small feat considering they tend to play their already fast songs even faster live. They still sounded good at Ozzfest a few years ago.

Incubus at the Electric Factory in Philly about 6 or 7 years ago. The sound just washed right over you; it was a really great experience and they just grooved so well.

Stone Temple Pilots at the Electric Factory also about 6 or 7 years ago. Weiland is a really weird dude, but what a great band! It's a shame they broke up but, then again, I didn't really care for their last album.

Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young on that reunion tour they did around 7 or 8 years ago at one of the stadiums in Philly. I don't usually go for that hippy music, but they were REALLY great.

Loudness at City Gardens in the mid to late 80's. I had never heard of them and went to see Keel but either we went on the wrong night or the bill got switched or something (the 80's were a blurry time) but we decided to check them out and they were INCREDIBLE.

Anthrax at the Satellite Lounge near Fort Dix in New Jersey some time in the early to mid 80's (again, a blurry time). They were relatively new back then and out to make a name for themselves.

Faster Pussycat at L'Amour in Brooklyn in the late 80's. Never a popular band, but they sure could rock! And they're a bunch of real characters - Taime Downe (the lead singer) chain smoked and looked like he was going to fall over half the time but he kicked ass! I love his voice!

The Union Underground at Ozzfest 3 or 4 years ago (I had never heard of them until I saw them - GREAT metal band!). No longer together, unfortunately.

Dread Zeppelin at City Gardens (I'll guess around 15 years ago). Not only funny, but a great, GREAT band! All the music sounds fresh but you know all the lyrics!

The Ramones, every time I saw them at City Gardens starting from the mid 80's. Absolutely THE loudest band I've ever heard and they never really stop playing - one song ends, the bass player yells "!,2,3,4!" and the go right into another song.

GWAR at City Gardens in the early 90's. Maybe not the best band in the world, but it was certainly an experience and they were funny and a lot of fun!

Stormtroopers Of Death on their short-lived "Speak English Or Die" tour at City Gardens, mid to late 80's. There were maybe 20 people there as nobody knew who they were (including me - I went to see a local band who opened) and they were hysterically funny! Fun show!

Megadeth on the "Killing Is My Business" tour at City Gardens in the late 80's. They were really out to prove themselves and tore it up. Ironically, they are also one of the worst bands I've ever seen, I think it was the third time I saw them on a later tour, and Dave Mustaine was so drunk or high or both that he could barely stand and couldn't sing or remember the words to his own songs. They played for about 10 or 15 minutes then left the stage to much booing.

Hmmm... it seems a lot of the shows I liked best took place at City Gardens. I've seen L7, The Offspring, Ween, The Rollins Band, Mojo Nixon, Primus, Corrosion of Conformity, and others that I can't recall at the moment all at City Gardens. I miss that place!

I saw Janes at that Lollapalloza tour and they were AWESOME. Best part was when the twins were in a rocking chair nekkid with their hair on fire Just like the CD cover. Perry rules.

Lollapalooza '96 at the Iowa State Fairgrounds.

Metallica, Soundgarden, The Ramones, Rancid, Waylon Jennings (which didn't go over so well.. crowd was booing him off stage until James Hetfield came out and said that if they didn't show him some respect, Metallica wouldn't play), and like a dozen other bands on two stages.

The crowd was wild and it was hot as hell. The rain tents to stay cool, the hundreds of cardboard disks from the pizzas they were selling being thrown around the crowd that looked like a bunch of popcorn popping from a distance, the surprising amount of joints being passed around like community candy, and the way the crowd flowed like water when the pit would surge during some songs... it was one of the most fun and memorable days of my life, and definitely the best concert I've ever been to.

You hear STP is doing a reunion tour this summer after Scott completes the next VR album?

Oh nice. I will definitely see them if they stop by Sacramento. I saw them with Red Hot Chili Peppers like 5 years ago lol.

Hrm Woodstock '99 was great!

Seen 30 Seconds to Mars quite a few times.

Taste of Chaos 2006 & 2007 were good.

Warped Tour 2007 was good.

I've got tons of concert tickets in my room and I enjoyed every single one of them.
