This stuff used to be the best thing since sliced bread when I was a kid (my grandfather used to make it). However, since it's usually only found in the south, I've been trying to find it for years now that I live in the PNW.
Then! Was visiting my aunt this past week, and we stopped at a veggie/fruit stand one day. THEY HAD MAYHAW JELLY.
I'm such a happy camper.

ok I had to go look up what you were talking about as I had never heard of Mayhaw Jelly. I found a wonderful blog that explains it all and even has sources on where to get them, and the jelly and other products made from them.
All you wanted to know about Myhaw's and then some:

If anyone finds a good online source, please post the link here.
I've found a number of places on the web that sell it. I get all excited for my $5-$7 jar to try. Go to check out. And then see a $15 S&H. Dang, I can't bring myself to pay $20+ for a jar of jelly.

Nyx - it most likely won't grow in your climate, it's very particular.
I'm not surprised that many haven't heard of it. I've never found it in a store.
