I used have a total disaster when I was finished. As I got older, I learned to clean up as I go cook.
It's not perfect until after everybody has eaten and then I usually finish up.

I try cleaning while cooking, but our kitchen is so tiny it looks nasty no matter what.

I usually clean it before I start just to make sure I have everything clean (Counter tops what not) and then clean up as I go (Bowls, Utensils) Then once everything is done I do the final cleaning (The Counters, Stove top, Bowls...)

Total disaster. Crumbs and liquid is on the floor, sink is full of dirty dishes.

spotless...i never cook from scratch tho, im always just warming something up or cutting some fruit or something.

Having spent so many years in commercial kitchens cleaning is second nature to me. I didn't answer 'spotless' in the poll but I'm willing to bet I could pass a health inspection at any given time (with exceptions to the things I have no control over in my apartment such as plumbing and the like). I also do all the HACCP and sanitation training in my department so it's always fresh in my mind.

I clean as I cook. I even do the dishes that I used to prepare the meal while it is cooking. Husband or son get the dishes after meal is finished.
Kitchen is usually clean when we sit down to eat. I'm like that because of what I do for a living I guess.
