Like the great epic-fantasy writers, Michael never looses sight of the fact that that the environment can be as much a part of the story as the plot and characters. Michael’s worlds are majestic, whether pleasant or imposing, with a depth of field that speaks to the hero’s emotional journey as well as physical.

Aye, the actual artwork in the book is great. It isn't everyday that you get a sketch pad drawings in your fantasy book.

Downloaded the sample from iBooks, read the prologue and then bought the book. I'm hooked, about a third or so into it.
