I'm currently trying to get hold of them all in hardcover. It's a bit of work
I've gotten hold of "Once more with footnotes" though, so I think I'll be able to manage it :>

Actually, the main reason I started buying hardcovers, is that it's the best way to support authors you like

I buy Brandon Sanderson and Kim Harrison hardcovers.
Past that I have quit buying physical books.

I can not stand reading hardscovers, but I sure do love collecting them in first edition form.
I really need to try out this e-book fad.

I actually prefer reading hardcovers because I don't have to be as gentle with them.
You aren't going to bend the spine or warp the cover.

Most of my books are softcover.
I have most of Brandon Sanderson's books, as well as those TP ones in hardcover, plus a few random ones.
I usually prefer HC to softcover as well, but I buy way to many books to support that habit.
That being said though, authors have better payout per hardcover copy sold then any other format, so I try to buy hardcovers when I can.

I'm afraid that I tend to wear books out. Coffee stains, bent pages, bent spines, sometimes even ripped covers. When I really get in to a book, though, I don't put it down until it's finished. Usually that involves me taking it everywhere I go and reading it during any small amount of free time available.
