Same behavior as if I manually do it in the ini. Stops at updating bar. IIRC any port selection done only has an impact on actually connecting to the world and/or login server, but not client updating - which is where I get stuck when connecting via my mobile data service. When I use any open APs I have no problem logging in at all, but as I said above my neighbor's ISP is currently hosed

It might not be ports then. Or related to port selection. Because you have clearly set your ports correctly yet the problem is still there. Furthermore whenever I have set ports incorrectly I do not get trouble until I first hit portal space.
Maybe bake your neighbour a pie or something... It is amazing how many people do not psw protect their wireless internet. When I go for runs with my ipod there is always 3+ wireless connections unprotected in the remote area.

I've diagnosed what the problem is with my own connection, and it doesn't appear to be something I can work around short of going with another GSM provider (ugh, AT&T) and hoping they don't use the same port for their SMS/MMS messaging. My neighbor's wireless is still unsecured, I routinely reboot his router because his connection only stays up for 48 hours at a time, the problem now is his ISP, he hasn't been receiving a DHCP lease for about a week now, so he gets no IP from his ISP. Obviously since nobody knows I use the connection, and I don't know his account info, I won't be calling the ISP to troubleshoot. Hell I don't even know which neighbor it is - I just call him Linksys.

You lasted quite a long time in this game. I'll have you know that even though I left AC years ago, I'd put up all the people I met on Thistledown against anyone else... even said server villains. I miss a game where playing is actually dangerous. New games suck.

By "its done" he means, "I'm done playing Doom, I've got other chars I want to level on another account. So I'll still be around, just not on Doom".

Nah no active accounts and its summetime.. i'm concerned about turbine banning people on DT boards for something so i wont say never, but at this time i dont think ill come back or play the other account.. but who knows
