Yelling Guy Arrested for Violation of Spam Statute

Thursday, March 26, 2009 at 5:19pm | Edit Note | Delete
Yelling guy is being prosecuted for sending large volumes of spam from his vocal apparatus to UCLA receivers on the school's copyright protection ownership list, in violation of California's anti-spam statute (California Code § 18.2-152.3:1). The statute prohibits the unsolicited transmission of information where the offender (1) uses an electrochemical device with the intent to broadcast ambiguous transmissions or routing information, and (2) the information creates a noticable impact upon a protected asset's cortical network. The offense is upgraded to a felony if, as in Yelling Guy's case, it meets certain volume requirements within specified time frames. If Yelling Guy's defense fails to overcome the 418 alleged violations within the last 72 hours. Yelling Guy's attorney has claimed that the 418 documented events do not function as a representative sample from which a "population" of offenses can be predicted to have occurred, which if projected over the course of 3 months of continuous activity (since prior to the beginning of the winter quarter, according to percipient witnesses) yields a potential for multiple life sentences. Yelling Guy, in violation of his counsel's advice, issued something resembling a blanket apology, "I spoke too soon. The world has not been held at bay. I give up my anger now. May the lord your soul god rest you live in peace. Amen. He continued on to talk about a radio particle accelerator, which bewilders the imagination by colliding unimaginable particles with each other, and was taken away by policeman Mark Littlestone. The policeman remarked "I hate to do it, he doesn't seem like the kind of guy who deserves life...more the harmless, doesn't-have-a-clue type, you know?" (Yelling Guy interrupted the officer by saying "I know my rights. You can't hurt me". Yelling Guy's arraignment is scheduled for Monday, March 30th in the center of Westwood Village. Everyone is invited to come throw batteries at him. Verio, I'm a little bit busy blackmailing a 4.3 billion dollar private equity firm. I'll try to come through but perhaps you could ask Nerf Golem about discrete finite automata? Maybe I can just telepath signals to the players through my blackberry? Give me a patron and a vassal, and an agent to control the guy, and put it in my blackberry...does anyone want to trade me an iphone for a signed copy of Dan Elconin's "Never After" book? A private Placement Memorandum for Naughty Partners, LLC and Zaphod Howlinski and Lyra Banks, LLC with regard to visa vis resesrve the balance of my glaicers, xue, climatology, pismo beach, 2-bromo-alpha-ergocryptine, original wikipedia articles, can we get 'em back? Michael Okerblom I'm flunking out of UCLA. Can't remember anything. The Hells Angels were the ones who defined "bummer," it was in the electric koool aid acid test..

so the story i'm pitching to my profs is that i'm on strike from learning because of prop 115, it's a constitutional issue, the right to confrontation. How do you feel about the right to confrontation? Should I be on strike?

The perception that focuses on a trial as the crucible from which justice emerges is myopic. The vast majority of criminal cases are resolved without a trial. Because these dispositions are final, and more difficult to challenge than trial verdicts, any process that results in a criminal disposition in the trial courts, including dispositions in lieu of trial, should be reliable.

A. General Leslie R. Groves

"The Commission shall have determined that permitting such person to have access to restricted data will not endanger the common defense or security," and it mentions that the investigation should include the character, associations, and loyalty.

My interpretation of "endanger" - and I think it is important for me to ... Read Moremake that if I am going to answer your question - is that it is a rea-sonable presumption that there might be a danger, not a remote pos-sibility, a tortured interpretation of maybe there might be something, but that there is something that might do. Whether you say that is 5 percent or 10 percent or something of that order does not make any difference. It is not a case of proving that the man is a danger. It is a case of thinking, well, he might be a danger, and it is perfectly logical to presume that he would be, and that there is no consideration whatsoever to be given to any of his past performances or his general usefulness or, you might say, the imperative usefulness. I don't care how important the man is, if there is any possibility other than a tortured one that his associations or his loyalty or his character might endanger.

Hans Bethe:
...Finally there was a very brilliant discovery made by Dr. Teller. It was one of the discoveries for which you cannot plan, one of the discoveries like the discovery of the relativity theory, although I don't want to compare the two in importance. But something which is a stroke of genius, which does not occur in the normal development... Read More of ideas. But somebody has to suddenly have an inspiration. It was such an inspiration which Dr. Teller had which put the program on a sound basis.

Only after there was such a sound basis could one really talk of a technical program. Before that, it was essentially only speculation, essentially only just trying to do something without having really a direction in which to go. Now things changed very much. After this brilliant discovery there was a program...

why does google lie to me? If I say "I lost a leg," that has fewer words in it than "I lost a leg to," right? So why are linguists trying to build a linguist's search engine...?

you might just as well have asked Leonardo da Vinci to distort an anatomical drawing as that you should ask Robert Oppenheimer to speak responsibly to the sort of questions we were talking about, and speak dishonestly.

Gunwitch? Juggler? Mystery? Style?

Mystery -~> Appropriated "the pearl of great price," from the bible, and mixed it with something on Pause88's Reader's Picks list. He wanted me to record girls on dates, and send 'em to him. Not a contender.

Style -~> Made fun of the guy. Don't remember if he said anything interesting. Anyone around here still quoting him? Has he been tapped for the committee to return Ishtar's clothes to her? Does he catch the "Ishtar Ishtar Alianna" reference? The people in the Proto Indo European Society mostly do--have you ever given a lecture on Tocharian? So on the corner of Hollywood and ____, there's a star for the guy who wrote The Trouble With Cinderella. PM comments -> that thing your aunt gave you, that you don't know what it was.
