I once challenged Eric to a duel, but before I could utter the words "en garde" he had already slain me, looted me, and claimed to have ownership of my soul.
In a later encounter I noticed my Total XP dropping at an alarming rate. It turned out that Eric had found a way to steal others' XP.
He's bad news.

That explains how I miraculously lost my specialized melee defense whilst standing next to him in Egg Orchard. Bastard.
