So folks, tomorrow is my first day of official vacation since I started working for my current employer. Normally I am on call (and get called out regularly) 24/7, so my overall amount of drinking/partying has been seriously lacking for the past year. My original plans pretty much got scrapped at the last minute, so now I HAVE to take a full week off and I have no one to do the roadtrip thing with me.

This is where you all come in

I need some ideas of things to do, keeping in mind the following:

1.) I can not fly , nor leave the country . .

2.) I have only about 700 bucks budgeted for the trip (hotel stays and gas are NOT part of this fund, company is covering those for me as needed)

3.) I am in Ohio (yay . . ) and I probably do not want to spend more than one whole day driving to any particular location.

4.) I already live right by a major amusement park, so I have no interest in cedar point, king's island, busch gardens, ect.

5.) I plan on drinking large volumes of alcohol on most days.

6.) I am NOT going to spend my vacation playing vidoe games or on the computer!

My current plans are to visit family in eastern ohio and drink, then maybe visit people near pittsburg and do more drinking. However, I feel like I should be doing something MORE with my time . .

I took a road trip to Cali this past SB, but I wouldn't want to drive from Ohio. 26 hours from Texas was enough for me.

As long as you get out of the unfortunate place that is Ohio, I think it'll be vacation enough.

Western North Carolina. Beautiful country, good party scene in Asheville (arty college town).

Atlantic City can be fun, though I am not a gambler. Last time I was there (2007)I had a blast, but that was also with about two dozen coworkers tearing it up

North Carolina has some really beautiful areas once you get off the beaten path a little bit, that is actually where I took my last vacation back in like 2007. Plus some bars in NC have an all you can drink beer for a fixed price! Well, jacksonville did at least.

I live in South Jersey and visit AC regularly... If you dont gamble, it's pretty pointless. There's literally nothing to AC but the casinos.

Agreed. I used to service/repair the uninterruptible power supply systems at some of the establishments in AC, and frankly the place is not somewhere I would want to be outside of a well established casino or hotel. However, I had an extremely fun time at the Hilton

fill cooler ($25) with steel reserve 16 oz cans (8 for 6 dollars currently) soooo lets say 40 4 packs for 120 bucks

current tab: $145

point your car towards the east coast (requires a fill up, which sucks, but you can do it for the leisurely cost of about $55)

updated tab: $195

stop at places where your car lands, drink copiously, have fun.

edit: the extra $25 was factored in assuming that you did not have a cooler that could handle 160 cans.

edit2: added in a link for a Steel Reserve review (ignore the beer snobs)
