Hey all, been trying my hand in Rift on Gnarlwood server. Not here to talk the game up or down, but if you want to try it for 7 days, shoot me a PM i'll send you a trial account link, no limit as far as I know. Maybe can save some of ya money before you buy it, or maybe cost some of you money by making you buy it lol

Hey Kal. I actually wanted to try it out but my power supply crapped out on my new comp and my old one won't run rift. I got 1 other person that may want to try it if you can send 2 trial's.  Probly won't be able to give it a shot for about a week or 2 though.

Rift is a great game
Its wow meets eq2 meets conan etc, there is nothing really new other then the fact mobs will fight other mobs, but overall a great game im ig as Darryl (Shocker) yell if you ever need a hand.

AC has done that for years, though I don't know if they ever "fixed" it. Back when hunting large mobs on the Obsidian Plains was popular, it was not uncommon at all for a spell from one critter to hit another critter (instead of you) and draw it's aggro.
It was especially fun when it hit a virindi or a shadow, because tuskers and hollows would defend the virindi and grievers would defend the shadows. You could just sit back and watch the ensuing melee. Good times.

Unfortunately I think AC ruined MMO's for me.
I will never EVER have that popped cherry feeling again, and although Rift was a good game I think I'm in more of a hardcore frame of mind anymore. I don't want a game that the week after it comes out there are max levels in full purple sets.
Just frustrating. I will say I think they did a good job with the repetitiveness of crafting, it's not too bad!

Would be awesome to have another rogue to run around in these pvp battles with. Vent/Skype and target the same guy, we would tear up.  Come onnnnn

I've had that with every other MMO I played.
It seems all MMO's from 2000-2005 tried to be Everquest, and every MMO from 2005 till now is a WoW clone.
I'll just sit tight for AC3. ;p

Kala, are you Guardian or Defiant? I'm going to guess Defiant and roll one of those. If you're Guardian it's not too hard to pass the starter area again. Let me know |
