I always remembered him from the show as Boner Stabone. His dad was Sylvester Stabone.

Suicide.
He was in hiding during the news reports of him missing, then killed himself in the park. I'm wondering if he did it because he thought everyone missed Boner more than him.

No, seriously. His parents gave a statement today at 5pm PST.
Police confirmed he was "laying low" while he was being searched for based on witnesses.
Parents' statement said he killed himself in the park he loved the most, after the park had been thoroughly searched.
The boner line is just wondering on my part.
If it was me, a headline of "Chekov loses Boner" would have had some kind of effect .

I just don't understand that speculation. You make it seem like Boner was some kind of cultural phenomenon the guy never got over or something. Nobody ever even talked about Growing Pains, let alone a supporting character from it. He was just another in a long line young actors who became troubled adults.
