So that new Doctor Who show that you people love was on before Top Gear... |
I watched it and sort of enjoyed it. I resolved to watch more episodes.
Then yesterday I saw that it was on again and I watched it, it was dreadful. Absolutely awful. Again today, so awful I couldn't sit through it.
So I did a little looking and it turns out the 2010 episode was good and the 2005 episodes were dreadful.
How did the show survive considering the abhorrent quality of the show in the beginning?

it really depends on which episodes you're watching from the 2005 season. actually that can be said about every season of who. it has horrible episodes in every season and a few that are amazingly awesome.

First picked up on this at http://supaswap-news.com/ and good question on how did it survive. I guess the secret is in the re-generation. If ones ont working change it for something else, in this case the lead character!!!!! |

Dr. Who is the king of camp. It's been on for 40+ years and is known for it's campiness/cheesiness. I watched them as a kid on PBS and was super excited when they came out with the new series. Same campiness, bigger budgets. If your looking for serious sci-fi, this isn't it.

i just marathoned the whole 2005-2010 episodes. even bad doctor who is still fantastic. it's interesting how the worst companion season ever (3) has 3 of the most brilliant episodes of who. namely blink and the family of blood 2 parter. but season 4 will always be my favorite because donna is my favorite companion and tennant will always be my doctor. it's also interesting how i remembered rose from season 4 and hated her but as soon as i started watching season 1, i loved rose again and doomsday made managed to make me sad despite knowing what happens at the end of season 4. of course as soon as she came back in 4 i was like fffffuuuuuuu i hate rose!
