I didn't particularly like last season but this season is even more awful. The secondary characters are getting unbearably bad and I can't stand the single dad Dexter stuff. And now we have Julia Stiles stinking things up.
Though, she isn't half as bad as the horrendous sister or the pointless relationship between Batista and the police chief.
Maybe they will take it someplace interesting.

I like the POTENTIAL of her character but I hate the implementation of her character. This could be a huge transitional period for dexter. So much potential character development and nothing is happening. She is just a watered down version of season 2 and season 3 plots without any of the story and character progression.
Also, Deb pisses me off. This whole thing with Quinn goes entirely against the last 4 season of work done on her. Also why is quinn being such an ass to dexter? Dexter knows his secret and has made it CLEAR he just wants to be left alone. Quinn keeps pushing and then pushes his reporter girlfriend on deb and thus that makes dexter snap. Why is he all "jackass! protecting his sister and being so cool about this" angry now?!?!!?!?
WHERE ARE THE CHARACTERS AND THE SUBSEQUENT PROGRESSION?!?!?!?!
Irish Nanny and Masuka have been the glue for this season by far. In fact, I LOVE angel and what they've done with his character in all 4 seasons. Now because of the same rehashed BS and LeGuerrta I've grown to hate him. Ship her out and lets get back on point.
Loved last season, this season though has been beyond a disappointment.

I also heard a rumor that there are a slu of new writers. Not sure if that is true or not but it would make sense.

I thought the way they wrapped the spying guy storyline up so abruptly was a little off. I don't see how the blood on Quinn's shoe is going to lead to anything, he will hear about the guys body being found anyways- I don't think we need another season of suspicious Quinn.
Basically it looks like next Sunday (season finale I believe) they are going to kill the bad guy and return everything to the status quo. I hope whatever twist they throw on it to hype up the next season is interesting and not one of the same old things they never do anything with. (they have laid the groundwork for Deb actually finding something out, but I think the odds are they will bitch out again and leave it unresolved)
