shocked me with it's incredibly sad ending. i mean the movie starts with them pulling him out of ice and mentioning waking him up. and we've all seen the avengers trailer. (if you haven't, you need to.) so i should have been prepared for the sad ending. it was quite obviously coming but for some reason, i totally wasn't. so it really succeeded there for me. the biggest problem i had with it was evans looking like a hobbit in the first half. like basically until he becomes cap he's 3 feet tall. which was.. well really awkward whenever he was next to a normal human. but that aside, i enjoyed it for what it was. i think i would have liked it a LOT more if it hadn't come out at roughly the same time as two very superior comic movies, namely thor and first class.

I'd tie this movie with First Class on the best superhero movie of this year so far personally. They were both done so damn well.
Also, holy crap that trailer is amazing! I hadn't seen it till now, so pumped for it.

i didn't like half of captain america but i enjoyed all of thor. so thor trumps it for me. first class is still the best though.
what's funny, way before we got trailers for anything that came out this year, when i heard that even thor was getting his own movie to lead up to the avengers i was totally laughing. was like fking thor? that's gonna be terrible.  then it was fantastic for what it was.

Thor stands as my all time favorite super hero movie.
I have a clear bias, though.

Like, he is one of my favorite comic book characters. I like the character Thor and I thought the movie was really well put together.
Though, if I were going to go gay for somebody and Brad Pitt was busy Chris Hemsworth is pretty dreamy.
