7.99 + 9.99 for 1 bluray/dvd and streaming a month = $17.98. My 2 cents... No its not they are trying to drive people down to lower dvd rentals plans, they are trying to drop it completely as it is so much cheaper to do steaming only.

Yeah, there have been a number of postage rate increases by the USPS, including a recent one in April that mostly affected only commercial shippers.

I'm not too happy, and the web backlash is almost palpable. With Blockbuster back to 99c movies and Redbox being what it is, I won't be paying for Netflix's DVD nonsense but I will still use their streaming service.

Therein lies the real culprit. The USPS, like just about any other Govt run quasi-business, is a steaming pile of poo. Netflix is one of the scarce few new enterprises in the last 10 years that sent increased business to the USPS. But the difference between Netflix and say junk mail is that people actually care if they got their Netflix DVD in the mail so the USPS actually had to do their job.

I'm still happy, but I will always dislike price hikes.

The problem I see with it is that their streaming selection isn't all that great.

For example, I went to watch Spartacus last night so I went to my instant queue and selected the first episode. As far back as I can remember it has always been available to stream, up until last night. I discovered last night they made the first 5 episodes disc only. This only leads me to believe that they're trying to force people to have into having both plans (disc + streaming).

I'll be canceling my service with them in August. There's too many free places to stream movies on the net. And when I want blu-ray, i'll do like others have said...red-box or blockbuster.

If anything was ever going to save Blockbuster's ass, this is it.

I just sent back my last dvd from them. Once they confirm it's received I'll cancel my sub. Too many red boxes within 5 miles of me not to switch.

By free do you mean legal?
