Today's Woot.com deal is a Xoom 32GB refurbed tablet for $400. Just in time for the 3.2 update that supposedly enables the micro SD port.

Still think it's probably better to wait for Android 4 this fall it you aren't really desperate for a tablet. But a nice deal if you really want one now.

Any word on all these Android manufacturers deciding on a data connector standard? Every Android device having its own type of connector is really silly. It prevents accessory makers to start full-on android support. I know people who buy Apple products just because of the "so many" accessories that are available for them.

I'd say it is very important especially for tablets - to be able to buy a plug-in keyboard, dock station, tablet-to-TV connector, etc.

The two most popular Honeycomb tablets don't have micro USB. Not on the Transformer or Galaxy Tab 10.1.

Phones yes, tablets no. Ravy can they not get enough power for batteries over micro usb, or are they just being greedy.

They have USB though. Adapters are cheap.

I guess they need to start putting in USB 3 connectors then, since USB3 allows for almost 2ce as much power output (500 mA in USB2 vs 900 mA in USB 3).

From the phones, is it only the Nexus One that has extra connectors at the bottom? I know it has the micro USB and then 3 metal dots that are sued to connect to the car and desk dock stations. I guess they have those since USB 2 doesn't allow for enough power to go the phone through the micro USB connector.
If that's the case and installing USB 3 is too expensive at least all other manufacturers can agree to start putting in these 3 "dots" so all andorid phones can get more power and use the same accessories.

They are not going to put USB3 adapters on tablets anytime soon.

- They cost more
- They use more power (hence you will get less battery perf when using them)
- The transfer speeds of 2.x already eclipse what the I/O on most tablets can handle

Well the proprietary USB adapters are not what I'd call cheap. And I really don't care for having to use an adapter. It's not a big negative, I'd still buy a tablet without a USB port. But really prefer that they have them.
