I'm carrying my small laptop bag today (Targus Port backpack) so not as much as usual.

Dell Inspiron E1505 (it's upgrade time this fall for me)
Acer Iconia A500 Tab
2 500GB 2.5" external HDDs
iPod Touch
4 flash drives of varying size
CD binder with assorted boot discs, OS discs, etc
Logitech MediaPlay wireless mouse (oldie but a goodie)
Acer Iconia bluetooth keyboard
Bluetooth dongle for the laptop since it doesn't have it built in
Power bricks for the laptop and tablet
Glasses (I'm old)
Assorted cables for everything (HDMI out for the tab, Cat 6, etc.)
LED headlamp
Pens and notebooks
Assorted other stuff as needed for whatever I'm working on

That's all I carry still, and it's not even a smart phone!

Same here, plus my house/car keys of course.

As for the phone, you'll have to indulge my whims. I use it to make phone calls. Shocking I know, but true!

Certainly in my case (no pun intended) it's a generational thing. I'm really not interested in getting into apps and social networking etc, those are the directions in which the kids are taking the computer age and that's fine for them but it isn't for me. However, I suspect the real difference is that those of you carting around great bags filled to the brim with techie gear are either professional techies or amateur geeks !

Yea I always forget that little detail, but with the ipad and the laptop, I don't really need it.

Argh. Just remembered something I keep forgetting to put in my bag. A spare HDMI cable. Every once in a while I wish had one with me like right now.
