Today Yahoo!'s board of directors fired it's CEO over the phone. Ouch. But not surprising, those are the same Yahoos that declined a $45 billion purchase bid from Microsoft. A deal I think most thought was way too much for Yahoo and yet amazingly Yahoo declined anyway (they wanted even more money). Since then Yahoo's shares have lost half it's value and nobody loves them anymore.

Nobody can save Yahoo. We can just watch it wither up and die slowly.

I still use their movie search though to check out movies and trailers. I guess I better look around for alternatives with the way they are going.

They are slowly killing themselves....I keep sending them feedback to stop F'ning with their main page features and stop forcing people to use the NEW YAHOO MAIL! but they havent listened the last two times.

Their users are getting OLDER, with age, change is not taken lightly or willingly. So, in the last month, I have had to go around and put 10 people back on Yahoo Classic despite Yahoo telling me that it does not exist anymore.

Yea, when I saw that Yahoo! declined that MS purchase I was like "WTF?". That company is ultimately doomed unless they pull a figurative rabbit out of a hat. They have nothing anyone wants.

And the ex CEO will be fine. Bartz is wealthy already, once ran Autodesk, and was outted for basically not being happy that the company was stagnant (which is what everyone else thinks, too). This was probably a blessing in disguise for her.

Being fired is probably even better for her, I bet this way she got a nice severance package.

Looks like about 10 million in severance (ballpark). Wish I got paid so well for getting fired without cause (after causing / participating in the company losing half of its value...)

AOL would like for Yahoo to buy it and name AOL's CEO as the new CEO of Yahoo.

i use yahoo finance.

only because i like having boards where people can talk about certain stocks. it's a crappy message board system though but no one else has one worth a damn.

i also use flickr. picasa has a better setup but flickr has the communities and doesnt have that 1 gb cap.

i've done the same (repeatedly sent feedback)...and have since stopped using their site. I couldn't figure out how to get my classic page back...and didn't care enough to fight with them.
