What did you get for your audio? Bluray is nice for video, but it's primary strength is it's audio quality...
We don't live in the same world then... aye, lossless audio is nice, but DVD quality compressed audio on most home systems doesn't make a noticeable difference. You need a professional audio equipment to hear it.
The main attracting of Bluray for the vast majority is the kickass picture.
Now of course, having at least a 5.1 system with it is and undeniable plus, but so it was for DVD already. You don't know home movie audio unless you tried AT LEAST a 5.1 system.
PS: Heres a good site for Bluray reviews.
http://www.blu-ray.com/
Yeah, that simple. What I liked compared to other sites is that the guys are able to literally HATE a movie and still appreciate its transfer quality to HD and its sound quality. They give 4 different ratings for each Bluray, movie, video, audio and bonuses. So they can (and often do) hate the movie, but give it a 5/5 in audio and video if the transfer is awesome, giving the fans of the movie a fair review of the Bluray disc.
Basically, a guy there can (e.g.) say "I hated Avatar because the scenario is simplistic", yet give the Bluray a 5/5 Video and 5/5 Audio because of the amazing quality of the Bluray. They are professionals, not fanboys.
