Without doing any math, I'd guess that a 27" monitor is twice the size of a 22" monitor. I think that the resolution vs the size is a personal preference, but I find that the 24" monitors that are 1080p just make everything to small for my slightly worse than average eyesight

Because I would really like to do three screen gaming but definitely could never afford three 30 inch monitors and yet could never stop using the 30 inch I have now. I'm stuck.

And the first month or so was a bit difficult with reading text. The dot pitch on this monitor is the smallest of anything I've had before and I used to have to move close to read it. My eyes did adjust and I'm now leaning back in my chair reading away just fine. Though that could just be thanks to the binoculars I'm wearing on my face now.
