Bleh at 1080p at 27inches. Thats a TV not a gaming monitor .

Its awesome is what it is Without doing any math, I'd guess that a 27" monitor is twice the size of a 22" monitor. I think that the resolution vs the size is a personal preference, but I find that the 24" monitors that are 1080p just make everything to small for my slightly worse than average eyesight

1920x1200 or greater ftw. I find it is a nice sweet spot for the distance. I like my 24" 1200rez . I honestly do not know what I would do with a 30" 2560x1600. I would need a bigger desk (and GPU) lol.

I got a 30 inch monitor. Sometimes I kinda wish I didn't though. Because I would really like to do three screen gaming but definitely could never afford three 30 inch monitors and yet could never stop using the 30 inch I have now. I'm stuck.

And the first month or so was a bit difficult with reading text. The dot pitch on this monitor is the smallest of anything I've had before and I used to have to move close to read it. My eyes did adjust and I'm now leaning back in my chair reading away just fine. Though that could just be thanks to the binoculars I'm wearing on my face now.

From what I've been reading, even though eyefinity can be awesome, quite a few people say that after the novelty wears off considering all the problems they have with it (unsupported games, bezels hiding guis etc) that they would just prefer one big monitor.

In the event that I win the lottery though, I may go eyefinity with 3 of these. HAHA

haha that would be one hell of a desk to have 3 30" LCDs.

Wasn't there a seemless curved LCD one trade show a few years ago. I do not think the rez was really impressive, but it was a neat idea.

Well, in any case I'm happy with my monitor and it's not being replaced this year.

I would however like a confirmation that it's ok to stick with a working 4-5 y.o. Antec power supply. It was near top of the line when bought, but my usual experience with PS is that they start to die after about three years. My budget can handle the extra $100-150 if buying new is the wiser option. Antec or Seasonic though? Newegg does have this on sale with free shipping. Gold cert too... great for the price.

Video card gets replaced next year. I'm not playing anything bleeding edge at the moment, and both Fallout 3 and Railworks 3 run smoothly at pretty high settings.

The OCZ support board is interesting reading. Most of the blame now for SSD problems seems to be on Intel SandForce - deviations from the SATA3 spec. Sounds like this won't get fixed anytime soon. Vertex 3 seems to be the worst hit, so maybe I'll just consider the Agility 3. My local Micro Center has the 120gb on sale this week.

Actually MC has everything on my buy list on sale this week so I may go melt some plastic later! ASUS MB and the Proc were also both much cheaper than Newegg! When did Newegg stop being the cheapest component purchase place??

Microcenter has always been great on prices actually. Not every product, but CPU, drives and few other things they are great.

It is just that not everyone is lucky enough to have one nearby.

It cyclical. When they first opened @10 years ago their prices were the best, then gradually got higher to be comparable to everyone else. Last year, Fry's was always cheaper... but not right now.

The only thing I've ever found to be cheap at MC are the CPUs - last few years, they've been extremely cheap compared to Newegg and the like.

Harddrives too usually. I am still waiting for them to carry more 3TB drives though.
