they've made the uac as annoying as it was in vista. i'm getting pop ups asking me if i want my programs to have access whenever i do ANYTHING. it gives me one for thundirbird, firefox, loading torrent files into utorrent, downloading files from ff. i can't wait to see what happens when i open the other stuff i don't use that often. i didn't see a "yes and goddamn stop asking" option either. so everything makes it happen every time. ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

The first thing I do when I install Win7 (for myself) is turn off UAC. I leave it on for people who should not be installing ANYTHING though haha.

My UAC didn't start doing that after the update. Hmm.

Same here. And I'm the only one using my computer.

I haven't noticed any change since the updates on either of my machines, both of which have the default UAC settings.
I've always wished since Vista days that there was an "always remember this answer" option. However, it seems a lot less intrusive under Windows 7 which is why I haven't bothered to change the default settings. I only get prompted on a couple of the things I run.

What I wish they would fix is the stupid dialog box spawning asking you if you want to switch to lower graphic quality (turn off Aero) even when it's absolutely not needed. If you click "no, and I don't want to see this again", it doesn't work, and the dialog comes back later.
If anyone has a trick to definitely remove that crap, I'll be thankful.
EDIT:
I mean this message (3DMark 11 is a good way to spawn it):
EDIT2:
Posting this made me want to search again (last time was over 6 months ago), and I apparently finally found the solution:
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/70829-program-compatibility-assistant-enable-disable.html
Disabled that crap, and apparently, it fixed the "problem". Ran 3DMark 11 3 times without it appearing, even though it appeared each time inevitably before.
Hopefully this can help other people who have the same annoyance.

Never had that kind of problem. Maybe it's a setting you changed or you got somekind of update bug.

I haven't had any issues either since the last update and I would not turn off UAC. I'd find out what was causing that behavior.
