Of all the Honeycomb tablets, it was tied for my favorite (Galaxy Tab 10.1 the other).
There were some things I didn't quite like about it.
- The speaker positioning was poor, they were weak, and one side was even weaker than the other. Hopefully at least the balance issue has been resolved by now. And there are some volume apps that will boost the volume some more.
- Holding it in portrait mode was a bit uncomfortable with the squared edges of the bezel digging into my palm.
- The glass is not coated, so isn't smooth feeling and finger prints are difficult to wipe off.
- Proprietary USB connection.
- Tegra 2 processors have difficulty with 1080P and some 720P video playback.
And the good points.
+ Naturally the price, this was $100 cheaper than other tablets at the time.
+ Has micro SD and mini HDMI ports.
+ Light weight and comfortable to hold in landscape.
+ Good looking IPS display.
+ Mostly stock Android (very little skinning or bloatware).
+ ASUS very fast with updates.
And ASUS will be updating the original Transformer with Android 4.0 before the end of the year.
Most of it's good points far outweighted the bad points with the Transformer.
Awesome, thank you. I'm not sure how many they have in stock, but if they still have one when I get there I will be buying it.
Can't beat a 10-inch tablet for the same price as a Nook Tablet lol.
