Funny that you post this... a few years back i remember reading that some scientists did shock test with package from private delivery services and they found out that the boxes with the label "handle with care" warning were those who were sustaining the most abuse damage during all the transportation process.

Delivery drivers are all sub-contractors, so it is unlikely he is fired, especially considering that the uploader of the video lied about any damages, there was none.

How do you know there was no damage? There is no excuse for someone that deals with the public to act in the manner that driver did. Even if there was no damage that driver should have his contract revoked and then he can figure out haw he is going to make his payments on that truck.

Are you trying to imply that this behaviour is ok?

He tossed the package over a fence. Damage is irrelevant. The uploader of the video could be a serial killer, chronic liar and not even the recipient of the package, how would that be relevant?

Oh he'll be chastised alright, he may even have his route "adjusted". And he certainly broke with company policy for package handling. But the uploader of the video also needs chastisement for lying about the result. That video was originally posted on Youtube for the purpose of getting views. Views net income, even if it is modest income.

Apparently FedEx says he won't be fired. He'll just won't be dealing with customers anymore. Guess that means not driving anymore. At first I'm thinking it's amazing this guy isn't getting fired. But maybe FedEx doesn't want to fire some guy right before Christmas.

And not to be outdone. A UPS driver tossing a package with a hard drive. And he actually jumps out of his truck while it's still running, tosses the package, and then jumps back in the truck. This dude is really impressive! But makes me wonder if it's real.

During the holiday season, residential routes explode for the amount of deliveries that need to be made. Now before people jump up and down that these companies can simply hire more people and rent trucks, they ALREADY do. It still isn't enough, so they have to do more in the same amount of time. In that link Ravy posted you see a guy jump out while the truck is rolling. The guy that jumped out is a drivers helper, that right there is a seasonal employee.

So here is the point, do you want your holiday package when you expect it? If so, stop bugging out about lightweight packages that are usually very well packed, they can take the tosses. Also, HDD heads, are autoparked.

He's probably a member of a union which is why he didn't get fired.
