I dont get how people are surprised that a new iphone comes out every year. It cracks me up when I hear non tech people say "yea I hear the new iphone is coming out this year" ... unlike the past 5 years????

Yes it is. Everyone else is making tablets for next year with similar rez too. I think Samsung will be out first from previous articles have read.

Yeah, the iPad rumors are just as bad too.
There are the QXGA (2048 x 1536) resolution rumors. These started by saying the iPad 2 would be QXGA and it obviously was not. Then they were saying a QXGA iPad 3 would arrive in October. And that didn't happen. Now QXGA iPad 3 this spring. Well, I guess if you predict it enough times, it'll eventually happen. We'll see if it's this time or not.
There are rumors if a smaller 7.85 inch iPad.
And more recently a rumor that Apple would have up to 3 models at once. They would continue to sell the iPad 2 to compete against the Kindle Fire/Nook Tablet, so it sounds like a iPad 2 price cut. And Apple would also add two new iPad models, but the source didn't mention what would distinguish them.
Apple rumors seem to get a lot of attention and web traffic. I think almost all of them are fake. Those that come true are probably just lucky or obvious guesses.
And sites like Digitimes are just running their credibility through a shredder.
