Can anyone recommend a new webmail service?

They already keep track of everything you do through any of their services.

So now they'll tie your email account tracking info with your youtube tracking info. Doesn't really bother me. Unless there's something here I'm not seeing?

I can see this bothering some people. While it is the nature of the beast to make changes to your privacy policy from time to time, saying you can't opt out is going to anger a certain portion of your customer base. The truly bad idea here is the affect on Android phones, I don't see this working out well for them.

Look at it like a single account.

Done.

If this bothers you, simply log out after you are done with your email and it wont be able to track you when viewing other things.

I survived to the end and got nothing out of it, but hey.

Doesn't really sounds like a big deal to me. They are basically trying to tie in their products together into a more unified ecosystem. Kinda surprised it wasn't already done.

I don't really see the harm of one Google product sharing information with another. Could be useful.

PS. I'm wary of how newspapers word their technology stories. Think the Washington Post probably tried to make this seem worse than it really is.

This, I believe many non-technical people will freak over privacy concerns. I could care less as I use, and will continue using, Google but I do expect some backlash from others.
