I'm trying to find a good wireless router that can handle up to 5 laptops, 3 xbox 360s, and a playstation3. Not all at once usually, but at least 3 laptops and two game systems at the same time most evenings Anyone here have any ideas what would be a good one?

Go here and scroll 3/4ths of the way down to view the chart that compares models.

I have the E3200 and it works well.

Yea you prbly will need the E3200 or higher to run 5 units. not to mention you will need to run a hub or additional router into the first router to handle that many ports. They only have 4 ports.

Yeah I own an E3200. However, I love my Netgear...

When I was looking for this device last month, my requirements were 8 gigabit ports, wireless-N, ipv6, and vLAN support. The latter being the hardest to find. The only downside I've seen so far is that it only supports SNMP trapping, rather than the full SNMP mib suite for monitoring. I doubt most people care though, haha.

I think that is a bit more than I need LOL

how about this one? http://www.asus.com/Networks/Wireless_Routers/RTN56U/

I am leaning to the E3200 at the moment, it is cheaper and if it will do what I need, then why spend the extra money

btw, the laptops, the PS3 and two of the xboxes are wireless, so dont need more than 4 wired ports

Who knows? Looks fine on paper, I suppose. I wouldn't think of Asus first though when I think Wireless routers.

I've been using this Netgear for over 3 years now.
Have 2 XBOX 360s and 6 PCs in my house. Has been working great so far. 680MHz processor and 64MB of RAM seem to do the trick. They released a couple new versions since I got mine, and they get even better reviews than the version 1 I have.

NETGEAR WNDR3700

I posted this same question back in November and tried the Asus RT-N16 but after a few days it died and got a refund.

A few weeks ago I thought I would try the TP-Link TL-WR1043ND. Hooked it up and after a few hours both wired and wireless dropped connections, then I flashed it with DD-WRT which fixed the dropouts on the wired, but the wireless would still disconnect. Newegg sent me a new one which I just received a few minutes ago. Hopefully this one will work.

My RT-N16 is still going strong mate. You always have a chance of getting a lemon, regardless of what you're buying. Just be glad it wasn't a car.
