Anyone use Spybot search and destroy? |

Been useing it for the last 6 months or so, but this morning it deleted my steam exe lol just curious if i even need to or if its just a waste?

I used to use it but not anymore. If you have adequate protection from add-ons and safe browsing habits it's really not needed.

I've used Spybot S&D for a decade or so. I still have it, but I have found that CCleaner does what I am looking for.

I used to, not anymore. Last time it was 3 or 4 years ago, but for some reason it keep messing stuff with its update for Firefox (Not Firefox itself) after doing research and did what they told to do and didn't worked, i just removed the whole thing and never looked back.
I never noticed a difference from before and after using it.

I used to us it as well, but haven't for a long time. I rely on Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes (free version). They seem to do a good job.

It's been so long since I had any issues...can't remember the last time I used it. It's been a few years for sure...never used it on this computer...and it's old

I've been installing it on all my home computers for probably 6-7 years with no problems at all.

That seems a little odd. Are you sure that your STEAM.exe was not infected?
Are you sure it was Spybot S&D? Do you have any other protections running?

I'm using Malwarebyte Anti-Malware which I run manually from time to time... way more reliable than Spybot S&D.
