wonder how legal something like this, since for the ISP to have any clue what someone is downloading would be to invade there privacy without a warrant something even the goverment does not do.
""The program, commonly referred to as "graduated response," requires that ISPs send out one or two educational notices to those customers who are accused of downloading copyrighted content illegally. If the customer doesn't stop, the ISP is then asked to send out "confirmation notices" asking that they confirm they have received notice.""
So if qw are accused we have to stop downloading what ever it is we are downloading? lol i use steam and other such programs how will they know my large downloads are not elgal if the system is automated?

more i read thru stuff seems this is mostly ment to stop kids who brag on forums about how they stole a game song or movie etc..
Anyone with half a brain can block there ISP from seeing what they downloaded AND from what websites they vist.
And no ISP is gona be dumb enough to cut people off and face a lawsuit when they have 0 clue what was downloaded.
Notice no DSL companys agreeded to this just cable companys.

I might have to pull my old USRobotics Sportster modem out of storage and add an extra analog line to the house again.
Governments seem hell bent on destroying the Internet. Everyone seems to want to control something that was designed to be open.

Would TOR be someone anyone can use or does it take a degree of technical knowledge?

its easy to use just VERY slow lol.
basicly what it does is open its own browser(useing firefox for me)and bounces what ever site you look at around the world thru other tor network pcs etc.. basicly hiding what your viewing from your ISP and others.
