What do you expect from your government?
|
I want my government to make conditions ripe for a prosperous economy, maintain our social security/medicade/medicare, keep roads and bridges in good shape, deliver our mail, maintain law and order in the streets and keep us safe from enemies who wish us harm.
This may be over simplifying what the government should be doing, but I think this should be the focus of our presidential candidates and how I intend to judge them going forward.
God bless our new president whomever it may be

We now expect way, way too much from government and all levels, federal, state, and local. We cant afford to ask the government to do so much anymore and we must all learn to live with less. This is unsustainable.

We do have social medicine, Mo it's just not advertised as such.
My mother inlaw is a recent immigrant with no job and she gets just as good care as my wife and I with full time benefits. She pays practically nothing out of pocket too.

Why is socialized medicine nly available for senior citizens?
I think being a citizen needs to come with more benefits than just the right to vote.

To preserve liberty and obey the constitution ... which it has failed at spectacularly on both counts. Mostly because of people who ignorantly demand that government do certain things that it was not designed or authorized to do so. [looking at you]
