On a sidenote, I think I just created the most obnoxious LMGTFY link ever.
Google isn't that great at word problems. It's best to pick a few keywords and search for those instead of typing out an entire thesis...

Signing statements were a non issue when Bush was President. They continue to be a non issue.
They carry no weight whatsoever. The President may as well be writing poems or recipes on there.

It has nothing to do with the word problem. It's the fact that LMGTFY types so slowly that it takes about a minute for the entire search string to be entered. It just did a quick copypasta from Grymlo's copypasta into LMGTFY to get the tinyurl without really thinking about what end result would be.

I just bring it up because certain libs love to bring up promises kept by this president.

That seems like a weak example. As far as the story makes out the "signing statement" is just "I think this part is unconstitutional so I won't follow it."
That isn't what people were mad at Bush for.

People were mad at Bush for being a Republican.
His signing statements carried no weight. They were not part of the laws he signed.
