No dumbass, he's saying that Fox News took Howard Sterns model and applied it to news .
The psychology involved is the same, the demographics are different.
Yes, because in one breath he says "modern media" and then turns around and claims that only Fox News is the "problem".
Learn to hear what is said, not what is spoken, dumbass.
He said FoxNews is a symptom, as an example. He did not state or imply that CNN wasn't also a symptom.
err... well now he just implied it... But dindt out right say it. Saying CNN isn't as successful at it as FoxNews doesn't state that they aren't also a symptom, they just aren't as glaring an example of the symptom as is FoxNews...

A desire for the truth is a "different demographic"? That is a new one. You make it seem as if conservatives are a small minority. I believe you have it backwards. Liberals are 20% while conservatives are 40%. If anyone is a small minority it is liberals. The fact that they tend to out shout others only makes them seem bigger.
Howard Stern gets listeners that listen just to get mad at him. Liberals watch Fox News to get mad.
Watching Fox News is like reading a Fist post. You are really only reading it to see something stupid and get mad at it.
Moral outrage is very addicting which is also the appeal to conservatives who watch Fox News. Ironic huh.

I would direct you to take your own advice re-read the thread.
SOO says no such thing.
Howard Stern gets a lot of listeners for the same reason Fox News gets a lot of listeners. It is just a different demographic.
Modern news media teaches us one horrible truth about people; we prefer to be outraged than have to think, we would rather be pandered to than educated, and we would prefer remaining ignorant to changing our mind.
Yes, I see...now, where is the problem, again?
Fox News is a symptom of the disease.
Ahhh, THAT must be the problem!
See how that works?

CNN is mostly irrelevant. They never committed to the agitprop angle that Fox News did and even now they are not really marketing themselves as such. Fox News did a canonball into the deep end while CNN may splash around in the kiddie pool.
One cornerstone of propaganda is agitation or intentionally making the viewers angry. CNN has never really been half as good as Fox News at doing this. That isn't to say they don't do it. Nancy Grace is a fine example of the role of agitation in getting people to tune in but it isn't about politics necessarily.
People like to get mad about politics and there is no doubt that Fox News is the clear leader these days.
