Just because he is gay he thinks everyone else is too. I think gay people enter the priesthood hoping God would cure them of their nature. He doesnt.

The Catholic church is in serious need of reform. Hard to believe its still so popular. Now its super popular in the developing world which is too bad.

Why would god need to cure them? Being gay is a choice right? All you have to choose is to not be gay.

The Catholic Church is the church created by Jesus. It's the only church he created and he said it was on it's head or rock or something that all hope for the worlds salvation would fall.
Ooops. I bet evangelicals hate that. Don't know how Mormons deal with it.

Religious are based on faulty epistemology, why would you expect them to not attract looney people and make looney decisions? It's very hard for religions to reform because they make up this stuff as the go along and if they have to recant on it, it becomes obvious they are making it up. This make people begin to doubt where they get their information and quit believing them.
It took the catholic church almost 500 years to admit Galileo was right, wtf?

ha! only in my dreams.
Anyone who thinks there is going to be a sudden drastic change in sexual preference needs to lay off the kool aid.
Sexuality is a sliding scale, it is not completely black and white. As the internet has brought people closer together than ever, the secret (lol) of our horny nature will only become more obvious and mainstreamed leading to further promiscuity in every direction. Expect it to keep pace with technology and continue further as developing nations advance. This has other serious implications that are largely off the Vatican's radar which is a shame. In some ways, information about homosexuality is most important because of the varied global mistruths surrounding it as well as saving lives because in preventing suicide and encouraging safe sex for an at risk population.
It's just information and education they're afraid of. How can they expect to guide other people if they can not even rationally process new and rapidly evolving information themselves?
